Actually, it's 3/4" by about 1/4"- Looks just like a cedar strip but has a rounded top and flat on the bottom.

We did a little test spot of epoxy yesterday- no color change, but the adhesion was good- I think I'm going to stain it to match the epoxied boat, and if I don't like the looks of that, go with the carbon. I hadn't really thought of the color, so thanks!! It looks like we'll build up 3 layers glued to the vertical strips.
