i have caned seats for two boats useing mac macarthy's book "featherweight boat building" as reference. i also have gil's book but found mac's instructions to be easier to follow. while i don't think that there is anything wrong with buying a seat, you built the boat, you can build the seat. it's not very difficult, just takes a bit of concentration, and as mac says, about a baseball game! :)
