: I was also interested in the response from some of our more experienced folk.
: My buddy Dave who is building a Chespeake 17LT bought enough Interlux
: Goldspar Clear One Part Polyurethane Varnish for both our boats the
: product is supposed to be clear, hard and durable, I was going to use
: Captains or Flagship varnish initially but now I already have the Interlux
: available. Has anybody used this type of finish? If so what was the
: result?

: Thanks,
Ken:

I will repeat my experiences many years ago with marine spar varnish and one part polyurethane. I use the spar varnish on the deck of my racing boat and in five years it was a varnish disaster and looked like H. Years later I built a sail boat and I used a one part polyurethane on the mast, seats and trim. I sold it ten years later and the polyurethane was still in good condition. So, now I have a can of polyurethane ready to apply when I get to that stage. I don't have any good reasons for this but it has influenced my thinking.
