Hey Rob, lighten up a bit, OK?

I tend to be a "form follows function" type of guy, but even I can appreciate the beauty in a Woodsong boat or paddle. Would I ever own one? Not likely, even if I had money to burn. However, I can understand why some people might lust after one.

You build highly functional, attractive boats that people buy to use. That's great. Woodsong builds boats for a niche market of well-heeled folks who are more interested in aesthetics than function. That's fine, too. I don't see them making any claims that their boats work any better than yours or anyone elses. Their boats may not the pinnacle of design or construction, but they do set the high water mark for beauty, assuming that they appeal to your sense of aethetics. They're simply building a product that serves a different part of the market. That seems innocuous enough to me.

On the other hand, if an OWNER of a Woodsong boat started bragging about how wonderful his canoe was vs. someone else's, I'd take issue with that and would feel compelled to point out any flaws in the design or construction, just to bring them down a peg or two. I guess attitude is everything.
