Couldn't help notice the commotion. I see that Phils' success has hit a nerve with you Bob.

Not a good sign, what is it about your work that you are ashamed of? To exhibit such passion you must be covering a weakness.

I too design my own boats. My idea of a good hull is not the same as yours. I do not feel the need to have a hissey fit because you like a different shape. (Actually, I REALLY don't like your lines, very log-like and you probably wouldn't like mine, too much recurve, too much dead rise).

The point is we all make boats to our own satisfaction and that is all that is important.

You can screem and rail all you like because you are made uncomfortable by the style and execution of Phils' work. I is your right to do so. Still, all that this will do is highlight your own weakness. My response to the challenge of Phils' work is to bring my standards higher.

You do excellent work Bob, you are well respected (as you deserve to be) and I personally hold your work in very high regard (even if we have very different tastes). Be proud of your accomplishments and stand on that for your self esteem. There is no need to lower the bar, just jump higher!
