I had a Ryobi RO and couldn't understand why everyone thought random orbital sanders were so great - it took forever and gouged things up.

Then I bought a Bosch 3725DVS and saw the light. It is powerful (runs at the same speed at no load and heavy load), fast, and gives a very nice finish.

The biggest factor after the sander changing the sandpaper as soon as it starts to show significant wear (don't wait till it stops working). I know I could probably save some money by using a disc longer; but the time and satisfaction savings are worth it.

You probably should order a box of 25 or 50 discs from a mail order place in order to save money.
