: Late last night, I finally got up nerve enough to put on my first strip! I
: see some "less than fair curves" - maybe 1/8 " off. What is
: the best way to fair them? Must I take the strip off and grind the forms
: down to fair it, or can I shim the strip away from the forms. And, if I do
: use a shim, what about the next strips above the first one? Will I have to
: shim them all or will they follow the first strip? The problem must have
: come about when I cut straight lines between some of the lofting points on
: this Great Awk design. Please give me some tips. Scott E.
Is your first strip on both sides of the boat? One side fair, one side not? or is the form just not lined up with the rest. I lined all my forms up the best I could and still had one that I had to unscrew and reset after several strips were on. It just settled into the correct place and I screwed it down again.
If the form is cut incorrectly you could cut another and realign them all again in an afternoon. Much easier now than a month from now.
Good luck
