Just to let those people like me who are about to start building a kayak. There are now Timberstrand LSL studs available in 2x4 & 2x6 sizes by lenghts of: 92-5/8", 104-5/8", 116-5/8", 12'0", 16'0", and even 2x6x 17'6" & 19'0". You can find them at any Lumber Yard that stocks or orders Trus Joist products. They are and remain perfectly straight, don't warp or twist,and can be nailed, screwed, notched, and drilled.
