: All of your comments and help are greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
Thanks for asking.
I'm getting ready to cob together a gel cell/charger/pump arrangement on my own but would love to be able to find all the components designed to work together and mount securely in the boat.
I'd like a bronze or brass fitting (1/2" - 3/4" dia.) that can be discretely mounted through the hull and ground flush with the deck surface.
The number of pump out cycles would also be important. I'd like it to be able to function on a 3 -4 day trip away from a battery charger. ( Maybe a half dozen pump out cycles before charging?)Weight is obviously a concern, too.
The main reason I would buy this system is to be able to keep both paws on the paddle during the pump out. Trying to pump out a flooded cockpit with both hands on a hand pump in heavy seas is a dangerous exercise in futility. A foot pump would entail building a rigid bulkhead and I'd rather keep the foam ones.
Keep us posted!
