The 690 seems to be a very good router I almost bought one so I could mount the fixed base to a table and use the plunge for free hand. the only draw back for me personally and the reason I didn't get it was that I need more power for other projects as well as multi speeds.But after I bought my Dewalt, none of my accessories would fit its odd shaped base.They would have fit the 690.
