And do *something* to protect the boat from boxes, etc., sliding into it and breaking strips as it is held immobile against the side of the truck... if not the bombproof shipping crate I'd originally suggested (my last experience with moving --3 years ago--involved my volunteer 'helpers' loading a particle board cabinet on top of a hutch -- the hutch broke under the weight of riding under that for 500 miles.... but it was one of those cheapo ones that someone had pawned off on me so I didn't care, but I DID learn that a major hazard in moving is stuff getting mushed by other stuff in the truck... and there were a few boxes that had shifted position during the move since the truck wasn't absolutely full... I had too much stuff for the next smaller size truck, but not quite enough to "tight pack" the truck I did get. Having been burned once, I tend toward overkill the next time around.)

So.. bubble wrap... or construct a cardboard box... and/or pack stragically, with immobile pieces of furniture between the boats and boxes that can shift position & take out a strip right between the forms....
