: How far should the hatch cutouts put from the bow and stern on a Guillemot?

I put my rear hatch too close to the cockpit and barely had enough room to place a paddle for a wet entry. I have to use the bungies that secure the hatch to hold the paddle. Make sure to leave enough room. The reason that I located the hatch so close to the bulkhead was so I could store longer items easier. (tents, poles, etc.) I still like to position the front hatch close to the bulkhead.
