What kind of wood did you use?
What size? How thick?--(cross sectionwise)
: Hi All
: Just checkin' to see if Photo-Point has done their dirty work yet and froze
: up all the free accounts. So Far, so Good. They have changed their
: comments at least 3 times in the past month. As now stated, they are going
: to charge $29.95 a year for full service, and $19.95 for limited service,
: and they give a description of what all that includes on the site. But,
: they now say that you ( I ) can have up to 10 photos free on your account.
: If so, that means that we ( I ) can have a few pics. and when I get up to
: 10, I have to delete old ones to put up new. At least that's how I read
: it. But, I didn't go to their additional comments section to read the fine
: print. So, I'll keep a few on hand to see what happens from now on. It's
: still free until the end of May, which was originally the middle of May.
: Maybe they're getting some negative feedback from customers. ??? Anyway,
: I'll give it a try for a while and see what they do.
: Oh, the picture??????? Well, that's my Walrus 18 1/3'er. No, I didn't typo,
: that's 18 and 1/3. I set my forms to make an 18'er and forgot about the
: 2" x 4" end blocks sticking out on the bench, a couple of inches
: on each side. That's what happens when you improvize as you go. Heck,
: what's a couple of extra inches among friends!!
: I had just finished my floors and was wanting to see what it looked like
: right-side-up. I hot melt glued a few false deck beams on it to keep the
: shape and turned it over. NO damage to the forms guys. Worked slicker
: than snot on a glass door knob. I removed all the screws, one at a time,
: and redrilled the holes and filled with 3/8" birch dowels. As she
: sits there in the yard, she weighs in at 22 lbs. Now, she rests back on
: the forms, for lack of room more than any other reason. I will be putting
: the actual deck beams in and sanding it off this weekend and preparing for
: skinning.
: Mike Hanks, Bill Price, Roger Nuffer or....or... Uh, well, anyone who was
: into the conversations a while back.... Oh yeh, Shawn Baker... do any of
: you guys remember where you found the fabric, glue and stems for the float
: bags a few weeks ago. Gotta get that underway as well. I want to make them
: myself so they fit into the bow and stern areas and the filler tubes and
: valves extend up into the cockpit area for ease of filling. Appreciate
: whatever you can remember of that.
: Back to Photopoint for a minute.. I would encourage those of you who are
: trying to get photos on the board to try it out on photopoint. At least
: for now, they are still offering freebies, even if it is only 10 pics at a
: time.
: I'm going to have to kick Paul's ( my neighbor ) behind and get it in gear to
: finish my web-site and get it up. I finished his saw table and he's been
: making sawdust for a couple of days now. Shucks!! More later.....
: Rehd
: P.S. ( Sorry, no plush greenery here folks. I've been too busy to water. )
