: Paul: I use pulleys on the ceiling 1 pulley for the bow and 2 for the stern.
: I run a rope from the stern through one side of the double pulley and over
: to a tie off place on the wall. I run another rope from the bow, thru the
: single pulley then thru the double pulley and to the tie off place. You
: just hook up the ropes to the grab loops and haul back on both ropes at
: once. This will lift the kayak, keeping it parallel to the floor, both

I've tried pulleys and found simpler ways. I actually never put the boat on the car in the garage. I have an arrangement similar to Rob's, a padded 2x bar across the back to support one end and and short bars hung from straps at the front. The straps are fastened to one end and at the other end of the bar a loop. Push the boat up and swing the bar, which is hanging by one strap, under the boat and slip the loop over the end. Holds as many boats as you can fit across the bar.
