I apologize for not being more clear in my earlier post and it may not have read as I intended. One of the things I looked at as a plus for your system was that the gasket was on the hatch and therefore was not subject to wear and damage from dragging gear across it when loading and unloading.
Sorry for the confusion, thanks again for the info.

: Good idea, that's why I put the gasket on my hatch covers. I read the other
: post about my recessed hatch method. Sounded like the gasket was on the
: lip instead of the hatch cover didn't it.
