I'd prefer they nail fees to the stinking, noisy, polluting, wake-making jet skis and two-stroke motor boats. I wouldn't mind paying something to improve river access, though $15 per boat is a little much for low impact craft like canoes and kayaks, especially if you own more than one. I'd prefer not to stick an ugly 3" high registration on the side of my beautiful kayak, but I suppose I could cut some fancy ones out of rosewood veneer or something.
Each June the Navy sends a fleet up the Willamette for Rose Festival. Perhaps I should call the marine board and report the unregistered boats. How do states with registration treat out-of-state visitors?
