I've tried the stuff for other applications and was totally unimpressed. It seems to have much lower strength and it takes forever to dry. I've never had any problem with solvent-based contact cememt attacking any of the plastics commonly used in kayaks. The bigger problem is getting it to stick sufficiently to some of them.
