Thanks Shawn,

I'm planning to use rigid bulkheads anyway so I can't see thigh braces making things worse in that respect either. I have been known to slide my canoes over a few logs, though, and I have seen some pretty significant flexing of the bottom, so depending on how you use the boat could be something to think about.

I'm on the skinny side so in order to loan out the boat I thought about replacable foam and velcro cheeks. Suppose I could set the cheek plates out a bit (normal butt size) and still have interchangable foam pads to customize it a little. Am I going to be knocking these loose all the time? I'm a long ways from rolling but I figure to be leaning bracing fairly aggressively soon.
