Reminds me of the story about how when mom cooked a roast ham she always cut the ends off. My sister asked her one day why she did that and she said "because my mother did it that way". So sis asked grandma why she cut them off and she said "because my mother did it that way". So she asked great grandma why she did it that way and she said "because my pan was too small and the ham wouldn't fit in it".
