My wife's uncle made one a few years ago. He is the most casual of boaters and did it more as an interesting project, so is not a reliable source on the suitability of the boat itself. I have not paddled myself it so don't know about handling or other aspects of the design.

I don't think he hit 60 hours on it, but it was definitly far more that the advertised 6.
