I think six hours is the actual time to put it together, after you have cut all the peices, and before you do any finishing. It took me about two weeks to build it, working part-time.
Or maybe it's the time it takes to paddle back to the dock in any cross-wind if you get more than a half-mile away It's been a long time since I paddled it, and I probably would do better now, but as I recall it does not track at all, with a flat rocker bottom like a drift boat. I added a skeg, and that improved it drastically.
