Seattle area Builders, I purchase 1"x6"x6' clear cedar in bulk for a hobby business I have, making outdoor furniture. I pay 89 cents a lineal foot and wouldn't be adverse to sharing a few boards at my cost
Mark
: I'm trying to plan for the cost of a kayak, something like the Georgian Bay
: or ?
: I am lucky(?) enough to have a place locally that sells only w. red cedar and
: redwood. They have the clear, top grade w.red cedar priced 1 x 6 @ $1.90 a
: linear ft. or 1 x 8 @ 2.56 L.ft. Does that sound competive or steep or?
: I thought I read that the average kayaks took about 50 brd ft.? How does that
: translate to linear ft. (I'm not sure how many strips can be gotten from a
: 1x6 or 1x8? I suppose it all depends on the kerf of the blade?)
: Any ballpark estimates on how many linear feet it might take?
: Similarly, what would the cost be(roughly) to order the strips already cut
: and routed?
: Thanks.
