haven't tried, but some ideas
1/say you put 2 web loops say 6in apart in line w/ the others but directly below where the hatch is. and the same on the other side of the yak. inline w/ these but on the peak of the hatch put 2 more. run a bungee zigzag over top to hold down.
2/OR same 4 webloops on the yak inline w/ the hatch. but 2in back from the hatch edge, put in opposing loops. link together w/ short bungee.
3/OR around the flange below the hatch, mount say 6 webloops. cut corresponding 6 slots in the hatchlid. stiffen the loops a bit. thread on hatch, and run a single bungee line around the top w/ tension.
4/OR in like a stitch pattern put in zig zag webloops alternating aroung the hatch from hatchlid to deck to hatchlid etc,etc. then sorta 'sew' on the hatch.
