I used a heat gun to bend the strips of wood to the shape I needed. For some reason steaming didn't want to work well for this. These were compound curves in order to taper up to the centerline of the tail from the sheer. I did the center srips first, then worked in from the sheer line to the center. Here is a picture showing it in progress. I have another on showing just the center done if you want I can post it.
