: I've been looking for a set of old catamaran hulls for a two seater I want to
: build. How is his set up, what did he use for hulls, what for propussion,
: etc?
The pic attached is of a German university teams's boat called "Close to Perfection" which is about the fastest known pure displacement tandem HPB (10.63 knots over the 100m). I've converted an old 14' Hobie Cat to a tandem in a similar seating arrangement, but it's way too heavy and the hulls are deep vees designed for sailing rather than prop propulsion (it's still a nice stable cruiser though). It's called the "PropCat" and I'll send detailed drivetrain pics off-list upon request.
There are a couple of four-seaters and even a 12 seat pedal/prop boat (the "Vel'eau") on my Photos page at the link below. The 4-man I mentioned previously is called "Juggernaut" and was hand-made by Jake Free using fiberglass hulls of his own design and bike parts + bevel gears driving a single carbon fiber pusher prop, which is how most of us configure the drivetrains, although there are as many implementations of drivetrains as there are HPBs (twisted chain, bevel gears, sitting sideways, u-joints, etc.).
I'd be happy to share as much detail as requested, but certainly don't want to fill up a kayak mailing list with HPB stuff unless it's considered appropriate. There's another list just for HPBs at http://www.ihpva.org/pipermail/hpv-boats/index.html , and you're all welcome to join the discussions there too!
