Hi John, it's a good idea to bag stuff even if your bulkheads are tight; moisture has a funny way of appearing... leaks, forgetting to secure a strap, condensation. For what it's worth, I use a small Pelican case for my camera, wallet, etc. It rides in the cockpit with me. I keep a small zippered dry bag in the back hatch that gives decent protection for the other stuff (dry clothes, sandwich) and is easy to get at.
