: Hi All;
: Little Brother is about to splash the "8"-Ball Dingy we built last
: year and is looking for Oars. He's wanting 7'ers and has found only 6'ers
: here local. Not much call for them in Central Calif. except maybe Wal-Mart
: who seems to have everything. Just never the right size!
: My Question is: Are there any plans floating around or books with plans in
: them so that he can build his own. He's trying to keep the whole project
: under $200 and building his own will do the trick. I've seen some paddle
: plans and ideas, but not oars...... that I can remember. Any help would be
: appreciated. Thanks.......
: Rehd
Hey Rehd,
Have a look at www.duck-trap.com Walt Simmons has some plans for some easily built spoon shaped oars. He also has lots of other building books and plans for rowing and sailing wherries and peapods and small skiffs. It is a very cool site.
