Sue,
I'm in agreement with Dave. I use a finger plane to quickly knock the high spots off. Then a quick dash of 100 hundred gritto set her even with the surface around it. It Shouldn't take you but 2-3 minutes a vertical drip. Perhaps tpo minutes more on a sheet drip or slump. It goes quick and its worth doing. Remember the details you sweat now will be the one's ya don't see later
