well it works sitting on the saw horses! the only drawback I see so far is ease of adjusting the 1/8" line for different peg adjustments when things get wet or sandy. The single braid line is pretty amazing, it's like a chinese finger toy when made into an eye splice. So adjusting the rudder cables is just a matter of compressing the splice a bit and loosening or tightening the line running through it. This is one of those lines that's stronger than a steel cable of the same diameter,,but light. So the bungie behind the toe pedal has no problem keeping the lines snug.
