My Razor Billed Auk is derived from the Great Auk and is 20" wide. It starts to get a little unstable at that width, but it is not scary yet. Because the boat would sink down into the water a little more, you can expect it to be a little slower turning. The weight should be reduced slightly. The waterline length will not change much due to the fairly plumb bow.
