This has been discussed before but... Thoughts and experiences staining S&G boats. I'm building a Merganser and would like to stain the hull a dark color, probably black. I'd also like to scarf the hull joints rather than use the butt blocks. I'm thinking I should stain the ply before gluing the scarfs. Is this necessary? Analine dyes?
