Little Auk for large paddlers?

Hi all,

I am new to kayaking and want to build a small boat for the small lake across the street. This first kayak is intended to be a form of exercise, and a practice building experience before I build something exotic.

My questions are.....Will the Little Auk haul my 6'3" 235# body around? and, is the Little Auk really any quicker to build than a Great Auk?
