: (only one coat, but heck, it is a start) A week later you repeat the
: process. In three weeks you have few coats of varnish on the boat giving
: it the UV protection it needs.

I agree. Get at least one coat of varnish on even if it's not a beauty.The bottom's a no brainer, no fittings or hatch/cockpits to varnish around.
