I just saw on a Paddlewise post by Alex Ferguson from New Zealand, that a lot of S&G builders where he lives build a rim around their hatches which they cover with neoprene as a back-up for the wood hatches. This sounds interesting. Has anybody seen this or done it to their boat? Any pics or ideas on building up the rim?
