:I used to have one of those and if I remember rightly it had a slot in the stern and a pin or pivot that provided a place for a thin (1/8 in.) skeg to be mounted. I remember that the one I had tracked much better with the skeg down, but when things got rougher or I needed maneuverability, I raised the skeg. You could probably mount a piece of aluminum in place of the skeg and adapt the after end to swivel for a rudder, but you would then have to deal with rudder lines, etc. I would tend to skip the hassle and live with the skeg alone.
I sometimes wish that I still had the boat as it was fine for knocking around on short daytrips on the harbour or around Granville Island.

I have an old Fiberglass Frontiersman Sea Kayak. It was probably manufactured
