I was always a little fuzzy about the reason for an end pore. I assumed to strengthen the bow and stern and also to hold the hull and deck ends together with more strength. So I did it two ways to be safe. First before the hull was attached to the deck I mixed up 1/4" chopped fiberglass into an epoxy paste and put in a 1" radius in the hull, fore and aft, running about 1 foot in length, then after the hull and deck were attached I turned the yak on its ends and pored in an ounce of epoxy in the very tips to tie the two halves together. It was probably overkill.
