You need a very steady hand to make cuts that will be neater than the glue lines. Otherwise, if you make cuts that are sloppier than the gluelines the areas will look worse, and you'll be spending a lot of time on a repairing your repair.

As long as the glue lines are completely filled you will not get drips on the inside hen you add glass and resin. If these areas are not filled, then use a few strips os masking tape on the inside of the boat to cover the areas and prevent resin drips. Remove the tape the day after applying the resin.
