: . . .Did you
: use a kitchen blender to chop your glass?
Hang on here. Don't even THINK about such a suggestion.
When working with fiberglass NEVER NEVER NEVER use a kitchen item that might get back into use with food.
The possibility of getting resin or chopped glass into your body, or the body of someone else is far to great.
I have gotten tiny splinters in my fingers from working with glass cloth. Not beig rough iwth it, just handling it. They were impossible to see without magnification, but I could feel them.
I can only imagine the lifetime torment should someone accidentally ingest a microscopic piece of glass fiber. How could anyone ever pull out such a thing should it get embedded?
No, we don't eat fiberglass, and we don't use FOOD tools in working with it.
You can make 1/4 inch strands from glass cloth by using a scissors and cutting 1/4 inch wide strips. Pull out the cross fibers and you'll have a pile of them. Just don't inhale the little things, and don't put your scissors in the kitchen.
Hope this helps
