: saver" round throw rings -- attach it firmly to the helmet -- where
: it will function BOTH as a hat brim (providing lots of shade) and as a
: capsize prevention device. If you tip over, you'll be sideways, not upside
: down, so you can just scull/hip snap/low brace your way back up.

: And, with all that helmet weight, you'll undoubtedly need a whiplash collar
: to wear on your neck so you can hold your head up. The whiplash collar
: will provide additional floatation if you have a custom one made using
: closed cell foam... since the standard open cell foam kind will get
: waterlogged.

Better yet-how about a halo device used in post-surgical cervical patients? You could use the hard plastic cervical brace (with some modifications to the intra-cranial connections) to hold the orange plastic throw ring/hat brim/anti-capsizer. This takes the weight off of your head and transfers to head and shoulders. The only problem I see is that any type of neck brace will prevent you from turning your head for a better view of that oncoming jet ski to port... Now-where was that link for those mirrors? I think we're getting close to solving this.
