The number of stringers was somewhat arbitrary. On the keel I decided I wanted 4 per side + gunwales & keelson. I tried to space those evenly on each form. For the deck I did a similar thing, but did position the first stringers up from the deck gunwales such that the cockpit recess would contact it.
