The experiment was just with the front wheel; it's a steering thing, not a push-the whole-bike-upright thing. I can't remember the document I got this from, but I did get it in JSC's technical library. Maybe you could search it from where you are; I ain't got a black badge anymore. Another reference from there talked about how they developed the steering geormetry for the US bikes for the '80 olympics. Basicly they built a fully adjustable try bike and moved the parameters around until the rider said it felt right. I think all this stuff is not a ridability issue, it falls into the realm of "feel".
