Outer Island Launch

I got a chance to paddle my Outer Island for the first time Saturday evening. It was a beautiful day for paddling - temps in the mid 70's and no wind. My aprehensions about the small cockpit were allayed immediately - I sat on the rear deck and slid right in with no problem whatsoever (Thanks, Jay, for encouraging me to leave it as-is). The OI was wonderful to paddle - strong tracking, responsive to edged turns, fast. I expected it to feel a little cramped with its low foredeck, but was pleasantly surprised at how roomy it felt. I still need to add thigh bracing and knee padding (I've got a red patch on one knee from 3hrs of paddling with no padding.)
