In Response To: Hatch leash (EdG)

: Just thought I'd ask for some opinions/suggestions - I'd like to add a
: "leash" to the hatch covers on my Coho, so that I don't have to
: worry about misplacing them, or having them slip into the water and float
: away as I'm unpacking my kayak.

: This could be an obvious answer; just drill a hole through the hull and the
: hatch, add some type of screw, and then connect with bungee - bingo, I'm
: done. But before I start messing up that pretty deck, I thought I'd see if
: anyone else had other ideas.

: FYI, the Coho uses a lip on which the hatch sits, so that the hatch is flush
: mounted.

: Any suggestions are appreciated!

: TIA
: Ed

Use a small piece of wood epoxied to the underside of the hatch with a 3/8" hole and the same under the deck. Add a short length of bungee and your done and there's no holes through the boat.
