My Spring Run, with Liedy-Lids, has a short line epoxied to the underside of the hatch, and tied off inside the hull. Be careful; yesterday I discovered that the line was not all inside when the hatch was closed, and it compressed the gasket wrongly, and permanantly I'm afraid. New gasket time. I dont like the bungee suggestion, unless it's long enough to lay the hatch completely aside. 100# test fishing line would work well.
