I've thought about it, but carbon is so darn brittle. You have to precisely engineer that stuff, or over-engineer/overbuild it so it doesn't fracture.

If glass or kevlar is under-reinforced, it will simply deflect. Carbon will snap. I might try a foam-cored rib that I could vacuum-bag under another layer of glass.
