We may have been lucky, but our agent just accepted the values we stated. The premiums, however, were accordingly higher. Didn't cost much to insure the Royalex beater for a year, but the more valuable kevlar or woodstrip canoes cost a bit more.

Good luck getting some good insurance. Definitely worth the hassle, just for some extra peace of mind.
