If you're of any size, as in substantial quantity of building going on, this metal container may actually be a legal requirement for you. EPA, and then sub the states, have VOC laws whereby airing out those oily rags becomes illegal. So far, they don't usually affect home owners and backyard boat builders. But they do in some areas, and more are getting affected as laws crank down.
