: I'm up to the stage where I glass, I've had a couple of different reading sources that approach the process differently, Nick's does a sealer coat then glassing and others go right to glassing what's the difference. What do I get to thion out the MAS system that I got with Nick's kit? Also any tips on heating a workshop in Alaska? it's my garage here in Sitka, 28X14 with 11' cieling, it's warm enough to work in, but outside it's always 40's and dampuntil summer!

I have a similar problem with my workshop which is
an unheated barn in upstate New York. Some of the
manufacturers claim that you can epoxy in
temperatures as low as 40 degrees by mixing your
stuff up with fast hardener. Raka and System
three make this claim.

I haven't tried this yet,
and would like to hear from someone who has.
I am concernedwith whether there are clarity
problems with the cured coat. Also, if the
temperature dips down during the cure below
forty degrees, will it chemically effect the
epoxy so that it will never cure right, or will
it just slow it down?

Another comment on RAKA epoxy--
it differs from WEST System in the
following ways--
1. its far cheaper,
2. the dispensers are one size (big) so you can't
meter out small quantities for little jobs
(like you can if you get WEST System size "A"
containers,
3. when hardened it seems to be more flexible,
4. and it has a stronger unpleasant odor.
