In weight lifting,Dead lifters use wrist wraps that fit around the the wrist loosely then wrap around the weight bar for a little extra holding power, the wrap on the bar is basically held with the three middle fingers.If the weight needs to be released, just open the hand. you should be able to find these in any sporting goods store or health magazine.sounds like this would work well since she wouldnt really have to hold on tight(althought she can if necessary) and no need for velcro or clip releases in an emergency situation.The gymnast hooks sound good also but might be more costly.If either of you belong to a gym or hve access you might could borrow one to test it.
