You are very correct that "no to be used below the waterline" applies only to boats that are moored in water.

I'm very happy to hear my varnishing suggestions have been helpful to you.

After many years of sleepless nights before varnishing day I've had very consistently good results with the method I described.

It's such a relief to have confidence that you will have the results you wish.

I'm going to put a fresh coat of varnish on the hull of my North Star today also, to spruce it up for my Georgian Bay trip next week. So if you don't hear any posts from me from the 4th to the 17th you can just imagine me joyfully lost in labyrinth of islands in the sun.
